1BUNNY

1BUNNY is an indie music label founded by Sam Jin AKA Skoolboi Krush. I first worked with Sam on the Abalone music video.

We wanted to tell this story of the band coming together across different worlds: as they play, their individual isolation becomes something magical.

After that, I had the pleasure to work with Sam and his 1BUNNY associates, including artist Kaeru.

For Kaeru’s unique song, Your Mom, we emphasized the quirkiness of the production and lyrics by following him walking an invisible dog on a sunny day.

We spent most of the day roaming Manhattan’s West side in order to capture those moments of green and sun. And with the added factor of an invisible dog, you can imagine we had a bit of a day.

Sam has always been a conduit for talent. He’s created a network of individuals that thrive on their own, but explode with talent when put together. You can see that with 1BUNNY’s music video for ICEMEN, with Skoolboi Krush and Kaeru teaming up to deliver ice-cold bars.

When it comes to working with clients, I try to provide a range of digital content, from full video productions, to photo packages and social promos.

Ultimately, what I love about working with musicians is interpreting their auditory visions into visual ones. You want to capture that feeling through colors, movement, and subjects; you want to ensure the artist’s story is being told; but also you want to leave a trace of your own personal touch on the product.

These artists, for one reason or another, chose you. If you don’t invest yourself into the work, if you can’t see your fingerprints on the design, then it isn’t special. In an age where companies are striving for perfection on social platforms, users are looking for imperfection, because that is far more human and real.

I wanted to talk more about the process with this 1BUNNY post because I started my professional career with their content. I look back on the work here, and it makes me excited for the future.
